Srinagar, Apr 04 (KNS): Prominent research scholar, writer and Environment activist, Dr Jamsheed Jameel Mir passed away on Tuesday after a months-long battle with cancer.

Dr Jamsheed's health began deteriorating on Tuesday night as he had developed a kidney problem again. He was diagnosed with early-stage last year and had been in Skims Soura since, where he underwent multiple surgeries and chemotherapy sessions.

Jamsheed was buried at his ancestral graveyard Watapora in Bandipora district. He was 30 and was a great teacher and a noble soul.

People in large number participated in the funeral prayers of the deceased that was led by Imam-e-Hai Bandipora Moulana Khursheed Ahmad Naqashbandi. Jamsheed was the son of Muslim League leader Mohammad Ismail Mir and cousin brother of Journalist Nasir Khuehami.

His demise was widely mourned across the State. Many political, separatist, social religious organisations and Journalist Forums condoled the demise of Dr Jamsheed.

Meanwhile, Kashmir News Service (KNS) management expressed grief over the demise of the cousin brother of organization’s scribe, Nasir from Bandipora.

The management prayed for the eternal peace to departed soul and also prayed for courage to the bereaved family. (KNS)
