Srinagar, 03 Sept (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah extended greetings to the Hindu community on the occasion of Maha Janmashtami, saying that religious festivals teach us the values of brotherhood, fraternity, communal harmony and, above all, humanity.

In a statement issued ,He said that, thankfully, Jammu and Kashmir has for centuries remained a land of communal harmony and peace. He added that the Valley of Kashmir is a land of saints, sages, monks and Rishis, where people belonging to different communities have traditionally celebrated their festivals together with followers of other faiths.

Dr Farooq Abdullah prayed that Almighty Allah may enable people to remain steadfast in the great principles of humanity and that peace and tranquillity may return to Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest, enabling the displaced Pandit community to return to their homes and live a peaceful life once again.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Party Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, General Secretary Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Treasurer Shammi Oberoi, Jammu Provincial President Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Bhushan Lal Bhat, Dr Sameer Kaul and Jagdish Singh Azad also extended greetings to the people on the occasion.(KNS)
