Srinagar, 01 Oct (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday extended heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of the 723rd annual Urs Mubarak of the revered Sufi saint of the subcontinent, Hazrat Khwaja Nizam-ud-din Auliya (RA).
In his message, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that Hazrat Khwaja Nizam-ud-din Auliya (RA) devoted his entire life to promoting love, peace, humanity, tolerance, brotherhood and communal harmony. He said the teachings of the Sufi saints continue to serve as a guiding light even today. The message of Hazrat Khwaja Nizam-ud-din Auliya (RA), based on love, humanity and mutual respect, is more relevant and necessary today than ever before. He called upon people to make these teachings part of their daily lives and promote peace, brotherhood and tolerance in society.
Dr Farooq Abdullah prayed that on this sacred occasion, Almighty Allah, through the blessings of Hazrat Khwaja Nizam-ud-din Auliya (RA), grant peace, prosperity and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir as well as across the subcontinent, and free humanity from all forms of hardship, hatred and discord.(KNS)
