New Delhi, Feb 23 (KNS): Noted Endocrinologist, Dr Ashraf Ganie has been awarded this year’s T C Anand Kumar Gold Medal Oration.
The award was conferred on Dr Ashraf at the inaugural session of the Global Conference on Reproductive Health being jointly organized by AIIMS New Delhi and Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF) at Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) auditorium here.
Around1500 delegates from within and outside the country are participating in the 3-day conference.
T C Anand Kumar Gold Medal Oration is awarded to senior scientists who have done exemplary work in the field of reproductive health. The award is the highest among all the awards given by the Society and carries a Gold Medal, plaque and a certificate of appreciation.
According to the organizers, Dr Ganai has been selected for the prestigious award considering his extensive research work and global contribution in the area of Reproductive Endocrinology.
Dr Ganie also delivered the T C Anand Kumar Founder President Oration on the occasion. The title of his oration was “Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Indian Experience and the Way Forward”.
Dr Ganie was working as Senior Consultant at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi before joining back SKIMS Soura as Professor of Endocrinology.
At AIIMS New Delhi he has been carrying out many national/international assignments including coordination of ICMR’s flagship Multi-centric Task Force Study on PCOS and Diabetes Mellitus. He has also given the concept of multispecialty PCOS clinics designated as PCOS Stations across the country and has been instrumental in establishing one such centre at SKIMS Srinagar. (KNS)
