Calls process a "routine" safeguard for religious assets.
Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNS) ; Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board on Friday said that the ongoing verification of Imams, Khateebs, and mosques in the valley is a measure aimed at safeguarding religious assets and should not be politicised.
Responding to criticism from certain political quarters regarding the verification process, Dr. Andrabi as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) emphasised that the exercise is purely administrative and intended for the protection of these institutions.
“We should not do politics on everything,” she asserted, speaking through a statement issued to the press. “This process is solely aimed at safeguarding these religious assets; there is no other agenda.”

“The same politicians who earlier cried foul and spread false narratives during the uploading of Waqf properties are silent today on the success of that initiative. Now, they are trying to incite people on this issue of verification, which is a routine exercise conducted for the benefit of all,” she added.
The Chairperson reaffirmed that the verification drive is part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and proper management of religious endowments. (KNS)
