Director Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) Reviews Tuberculosis Programme of Kashmir Division


Srinagar, October 13:(KNS) Today in order to ascertain and reason out drastic decrease in TB Notifications and review 3rd quarter achievements under RNTCP/NTEP, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Samir Mattoo chaired a crucial meeting on 13th of October 2020 at RFPTC Barzaulla, which was attended by Dy. Director Health Services (HQ), Dy Director Health Services (Sch)/State TB Officer, OSD to DHSK, Director STDC, WHO Consultant besides all District TB Officers of Kashmir Division and representative from JEET Project. It was informed to the chair that the drop in TB Notifications was as a result of shifting RNTCP staff to meet the requirements at various levels in fighting COVID-19 because of which Bi-directional TB and Covid screening was not possible while fighting COVID-19 Pandemic.

Threadbare discussions with regard to targets, achievements and payments made to beneficiaries were held under NIKSHAY scheme/ NIKSHAY POSHAN YOJNA.
All the District Tuberculosis Officers (DTOs) gave presentations wherein the officers were directed by the chair to adhere to the guidelines and improve TB Notification by way of DI-directional Screening being the only way to achieve the targets.

He directed Dy. Director Health Services to ensure that a separate meeting is chaired by him in order to resolve issues, if any and frame strategy in order to assure the services under RNTCP, DHSK directed all the officers to ensure that staff is working as per assignments given and under no circumstances shall the deviations be accepted. He further directed DDHS (Schemes) to design a common format in order to have information updated at various levels as the formatting was pre-requisite in order to consolidate the same.

Dr Mattoo at the end of the meeting appreciated the dedication and determination which is shown by each health worker while discharging their duties.(KNS)
