Dinkar Gupta appointed as new DG NIA

 Srinagar, June 23 (KNS): Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Thursday approved the appointment of Sinkar Gupta (IPS) as the new Director General of National Investigation Agency.


According to an order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), Gupta will hold the post till 31st March 2024.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of
Home Affairs for appointment of Shri Dinkar Gupta, IPS (PB: 87) as Director General,
National Investigation Agency in Level-17 of the Pay Matrix from the date of joining the post
and up to 31.03.2024 i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders whichever takes place earlier,” reads the order. 

Notably, Gupta is a 1987 batch Punjab Cadre IPS officer. (KNS)
