‘PDP leaders contriving hard to destroy states special status’

Srinagar, Jan 11 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Friday said that the level of moral turpitude in PDP can be gauged from the fact that it is employing people with criminal and scandalous back ground to sling mud on others.
Taking a dig at the recent uncouth assertions of self styled leader of PDP, Party’s provincial spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said that PDP owing to the dearth of leadership in its fold is employing those with corrupt back ground to absolve Mufti’s of their undaunted attacks on state’s special status. “Posterity will never forgive Mufti’s for destroying state’s special character. Late Mufti Syed has a history of collaborating with all who destroyed our special character. Starting as a deputy to erstwhile CM G M Sadiq, he played a pivotal role in diluting the basic constitutional autonomy of our state,” he said adding that from 1953 to 1975, 37 constitutional amendments were made in State Constitution thereby corroding its special character.
“Mufti Syed played an equally pivotal role in that being a lieutenant of G. M Sadiq. The remnants of the beleaguered autonomy were subsequently mutilated when Mufti joined hands with BJP, its progenitor,” he said.
Imran said that Mufti’s, owing to their abomination for state’s special status, have been contriving hard to destroy it. “In 2002 it was Mufti Syed led government that fiddled with the state subject laws. And to top it off, a cabinet minister in PDP-Congress government allotted state land to a religious board (Amaranth Shrine Board) resulting in massive agitation in Kashmir in 2008,” he said.
Imran said that it was Mufti Syed who was instrumental in installing Jagmohan to Jammu & Kashmir and what followed is history. “Mufti Muhammad Syed as Home Minister presided over 18 massacres from Handwara to Gawkadal,” he said adding that draconian laws like AFSPA was extended to state during Mufti Muhammad Syed’s tenure as Home Minister.
Imran said that PDP boasts of a think tank that believe in leveling false accusations. “It is high time for PDP to see writing on the wall,” he said.
Imran said that the explicit memories of people are full of bruises that Mehbooba Mufti inflicted on Kashmir and its people. “Nobody can forget milk and toffee remark of Mehbooba ji. The shoot and scoot policy and passing the blame won’t help PDP to get its lost ground,” he said adding that people have rejected PDP as a synthetic party. (KNS)
