DG Prisons visits newly commissioned District Jail Bhaderwah

Jammu, Nov 27 (KNS): V.K. Singh, IPS, Director General of Police (Prisons) visited District Jail Bhaderwah to take stock of security arrangements and to evaluate the facilities available in the Jail.

During his visit he was accompanied by Addl. S.P Bhaderwah, Raj Singh Goria, SDPO Bhaderwah, Adil Hussain Rishu, Technical Officer Shabir Ahmed, SHO PS Bhaderwah and Officer Commanding CRPF. Superintendent District Jail, Bhaderwah - Surinder Singh and others Jail Officers were present during the visit.

The DGP inspected all barracks, skill training centre, hospital, CCTV control room, kitchen & other sections of the Jail. He interacted with the inmates regarding food, accommodation, medical & training facilities available in the jail.

He took note of physical layout, staff strength, proposed construction work & requirements of the Jail.

He instructed the Jail Superintendent to take necessary measures for strengthening security of the jail and for introducing vocational training programs in the jail.

The DG also took a Darbar of Prison staff during which he attended to their grievances and urged upon the staff to work in the interest of security & reformation of inmates.

V.K Singh also inspected fire stations at Doda and Bhaderwah where he interacted with the staff and issued on spot directions to concerned officers for quick response in emergency situations.

Earlier, he visited a site at Dharmund, Ramban where a sub-Jail is proposed and directed the Technical team for early preparation and submission of DPR.

At Doda, Singh also visited the family of late Sg Fireman Anjani Kumar who died in the line of duty on 13th October, 2019 to inquire about the welfare of his family. (KNS)
