'New Delhi is tackling Kashmir, Kashmiris only through its military might'

Srinagar, Jan 15 (KNS): The Jammu Kashmir Democratic Party (DFP) has said that the statement of Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat is highly condemnable and unjustified. Senior party leader Er Farooq Khan said in a statement that General Rawat’s remark clearly proves that New Delhi is tackling Kashmir and Kashmiris only through its military might and there is nothing political in its kitty regarding Kashmir dispute. He said that Indian army chief General Rawat only wants the Hindu extremist’s prescription on resolution of the Kashmir problem which is not acceptable.
Indian Army Chief General Rawat’s remarks about Kashmir and Kashmiris demonstrated his anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir mindset. The statement has proved that the real control of India is lying in the hands of Indian armed forces. However, Kashmiris are rendering valuable sacrifices for the freedom cause and India can never defeat their aspirations by military means.
Meanwhile, the DFP denounced the assertions made by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, and said that she had resorted to blatant lies for her lust to remain in power. Mehbooba Mufti had said that making Kashmir a part of India was the bold and historic decision of Sheikh Abdullah and Maharaja Hari Singh. The DFP maintained that such negative statements would not change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir. Lashing at Mehbooba Mufti for her negative rhetoric, DFP said that she has no mandate to represent aspirations of people nor is she authorised to decide or say about political destiny of Kashmir. The present government has filled the jails of Jammu Kashmir and it will be known for its oppressive measures, the DFP said. The present regime will also be known for crackdowns in nook and corner of the valley. (KNS)
