Tangmarg, 21 Nov (KNS) A fire incident broke out today in the Drung area of Tangmarg, in Forest Compartment No. 49, causing damage to several trees. The blaze was brought under control by personnel of the Fire & Emergency Services along with officials from the Forest Department’s fire wing. The DFO Tangmarg was present at the spot and supervised the entire operation.
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) during the fire incident at Drung today, the DFO Tangmarg said that as soon as the department received information about the blaze, they immediately alerted the Fire Services and deployed their staff to control the situation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Timely action by our team and Fire Services helped prevent the fire from spreading further,” he said.
He also mentioned that a few days ago, a fire had damaged the DFO Tangmarg office, following which the department shifted its operations to the Range Office Tangmarg. He added that the public can visit the Range Office for any official work or assistance until the main office is restored.(KNS)
