Emphasize the need for transparency
SRINAGAR, JULY 14 (KNS) : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb, on Monday held a joint meeting of Revenue and SMC Officers at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office to review the progress achieved in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-U 2.0) in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Rifat Aftab Qureshi; Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar; Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar; all Tehsildars, SMC Ward Officers, and Officers from the J&K Housing Board.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner SMC emphasized the need for maintaining transparency and accuracy in beneficiary selection under the scheme to ensure the benefit reaches the deserving population.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey instructed the Revenue and SMC Officers to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out and no ineligible case is included in the final beneficiary list.
The Revenue and SMC Officers were instructed to expedite the verification process at their respective levels swiftly, in line with scheme guidelines, to meet the scheme's objective of providing ‘Housing for All.’
While reviewing the status of registrations on the Unified Web Portal of PMAY-U 2.0, the Deputy Commissioner and SMC Commissioner were apprised that several applications—numbering in the thousands—under the scheme have so far been received in the district.(KNS)
