DC Doda Reviews Damage in Gandos, Assures Timely Relief and Restoration

Doda, Aug 30 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh on Saturday said that the Gandos sub-region of Katoda has suffered the worst damage in the recent calamity, where precious lives have been lost and hundreds of houses have been affected.

According to KNS ,DC said, “The biggest damage in Katoda has been in the Gandos sub-region, where we have lost precious lives.

The purpose of my visit today was to conduct an on-ground assessment. Before my arrival, the ACD and ADC were already deputed here for the past two days, coordinating with the SDM to assess the damages,” the DC said.

According to preliminary reports, more than 50 houses have been damaged and around 100–200 houses have been partially affected. “We have lost one precious life in Gandoh, while in Kahara, three lives have been lost. It will take time to overcome this tragedy, but I sincerely appreciate the SDM, SDPO, police, and army authorities who have done commendable work in assisting people with rehabilitation,” he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The DC further said, “It is our duty to stand by the people in this difficult time, and I assure that all possible government assistance will be provided to the affected families at the earliest.”

He informed that electricity, water supply, and network services have been partially restored up to Gandoh headquarters by Friday evening, and efforts are underway to restore services in the peripheral areas by Saturday evening.

“The network situation remains disrupted in many areas due to damaged cables, but dedicated teams are working on it. I am hopeful that by tomorrow morning, connectivity and essential services, including water supply, will be fully restored,” he said.(KNS)
