Baramulla, Jul 16 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by various concerned officers today conducts an extensive tour to the cloudburst and wind storm affected areas of Sopore to take the appraisal of the situation arised in the aftermath of incident.

DC Visits Mundji, Dooru, Warpora and other adjoining areas which witnessed severe loss of property last night due to gale force winds and cloudburst.

At Mundji, DC was appraised that a residential house was damaged wherein he directed the concerned authorities to properly assess the loss so that timely compensation could be provided to the victim.

Meanwhile, DC issued strict directions to the concerned agencies to launch anti encroachment drive especially in flood channels and other Nallahs.

He urged upon the people not to encroach the vital spots as such an exercise can herald natural disasters.

Dr Itoo also inspects the ongoing work of Revenue Complex Sopore during which he stressed for accelerating the pace of work for its timely completion.

He also met several deputations who appraised him about various issues and demands pertaining developmental concerns.

Earlier, the DC inspects the construction work of SRTC Bridge in Old Town Baramulla during which he was informed that the work on the project shall be completely shortly.

He interacted with various shopkeepers and vendors and urged upon them to refrain from encroaching footpaths so that hassle free movement of commuters is ensured. (KNS)
