Srinagar, July 30 (KNS) : In continuation of the ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking and with the objective of dismantling the illegal narcotics network, Srinagar Police has booked another seven notorious drug peddlers under the provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT-NDPS Act).
The following accused persons have been found actively involved in promoting and trafficking narcotic and psychotropic substances, particularly among the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, at an alarming scale:
1. Bilal Ahmad Langoo @ Owais S/o Ghulam Nabi Langoo R/o Aramwari, Rajbagh, Srinagar, involved in FIR No. 04/2023 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act of Police Station Rajbagh.
2. Altaf Ahmad Najar @ TK Khan S/o Ghulam Qadir Khan R/o Islamyarbal Pather Masjid, Srinagar, involved in FIR No. 39/2019 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act of Police Station Nowhatta.
3. Moomin Bilal Kanu @ Momin Waza S/o Bilal Ahmad KanuR/o Banday Kocha, SR Gunj, Srinagar, involved in FIR No. 05/2025 U/S 8/20, 29 NDPS Act of Police Station M.R. Gunj.
4. Mohammad Ayoub Najar S/o Late Abdul Khaliq Najar R/o Waniyar Rathpora A/P Kounsar Colony, Palpora Noorbagh, Srinagar, involved in FIR No. 10/2015 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Safakadal.
5. Adnan Rasool Ganai S/o Ghulam Rasool Ganai R/o Chandoosa Baramulla A/P Qamarabad Qamarwari, involved in FIR No. 58/2022 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act Of PS Parimpora.
6. Shah Din Mushtaq @ Kana/Tufail S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Kagazgar R/o Bonyarbal, M.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelR. Gunj, involved in FIR No. 04/2025 U/S 8/20, 22 NDPS Act Of PS Hiranagar Kathua.
7. Ubaid Ahmad Shah S/o Aijaz Ahmad Shah R/o Pamposh Colony Palpora, involved in FIR No. 134/2024 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act Of PS Safakadal.
Despite prior FIRs in drug-related cases and having been granted bail by the courts, these individuals have continued their involvement in illicit drug trafficking and failed to reform.
They brazenly operated illegal drug networks, especially targeting vulnerable youth in Srinagar and other parts of the Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on meticulously prepared dossiers, Srinagar Police obtained formal detention orders .
Subsequently, the accused persons were booked under the PIT-NDPS Act and they have been lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu, and District Jails of Jammu, Udhampur and Kathua.
Moreover, Srinagar Police has initiated the process of attaching properties illegally acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking under the provisions of the PIT-NDPS Act.
This decisive step of Jammu & Kashmir Police aims to dismantle the infrastructure that sustains the narcotics trade.
Srinagar Police reaffirms its unwavering commitment to eradicating drug peddling and ensuring a drug-free society. The Public is urged to report any information related to drug dealers or suspicious narcotic activity to the nearest police station.
