Coronavirus threat : JK govt orders closure of educational institutions


Srinagar, Mar 11(KNS) Government on Wednesday ordered the closure of all government and private schools, colleges and universities across Jammu and Kashmir amid growing threat of coronavirus.
According to Kashmir News Service Correspondent this was announced by Director NHM Bhupinder Kumar in a presser.
However he said examinations shall be conducted by the authorities as per schedule.
Director NHM asked people to avoid unnecessary travel and use of public transport.
Earlier in the day, SMC Mayor Srinagar Junaid Mattu had announced closure of primary schools in a tweet.
Later Divisional Commissioner Baseer told KNS it is within the domain of government to decide closing or opening of educational institutions.
Bhupinder Kumar Director NHM J&K was accompanied during presser by Director information Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar and nodal officer Shafqat Khan.(KNS)
