Srinagar, Nov 14 (KNS): Remembering First Prime Minister and architect of Modern India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on his 128th Birth Anniversary, Congress today paid tributes to Former Prime Minister and recalled his selfless services and contributions to the Nation. Congress also described him as a symbol of unity and harmony.
On the 128th Birth Anniversary of Former Prime Minister, Pradesh Congress Committee held a meeting of Senior Party functionaries and workers at Congress HQ Srinagar today, which was presided over by Former Minister and Senior Congress Leader Taj Mohi U Din.
According to the statement issued to KNS, on this occasion Congress leaders and workers paid floral tributes to Pt Ji on his Birth Anniversary and highlighted his great contributions made to the Nation saying that his (Pt Ji's) leadership qualities and contributes will continue to lead all the country men at the path of development and peace.
Addressing the meeting Taj Mohi U Din told the gathering that Pt. Jawahar Lal Nerhu was a man of principal, who never compromised on his secular ideology and remained committed to safeguard the secular fabric of the Country. It was his dream and commitment to keep every section of the Country united, he said.
He said the First Prime Minister was a man of development, who launched the Prime Minister’s five year reconstruction plan which helped the Nation to develop fast, as a result, people in the entire country were made self-reliant.
He said Pt. Ji never allowed any force to harm the secular image of India and defeated the Communal Forces damaging the Secular Identity of the Nation, he was the man who ensured that every section was treated equally thereby ensuring development of people from grass roots level irrespective of their caste, creed or Colour, he said.
He said the best way to pay homage to Pt. Jawaharlal Nerhu is to works for peace and development and ensure that every section of the people are treated equally, he added.
On this occasion Taj Mohi U Din lashed out BJP RSS for damaging the secular fabric of the Country to serve their vested interests. He said India is Secular Country, where all shades of people lived in harmony, but the Govt of the Day led by Narinder Modi is damaging the secular image of the country to get benefitted, but they must know that people have realized that they are being misled by BJP RSS for electoral gains, he said.
