Srinagar, Sep 19 (KNS) The Congress in Jammu and Kashmir will raise issues concerning the common people in the upcoming Assembly session and will not remain silent merely because it is part of the government, the party's J&K unit chief, Tariq Hamid Karra, said on Saturday.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) JK Congress chief said, "We are in the government, but that does not mean we will tolerate the concerns of common people being ignored, be it basic facilities related to roads, water, gas, and other basic issues. The Congress will not leave any stone unturned to raise them in this Assembly session for the welfare of the people," Karra told KNS.
He said the Congress, despite being in an alliance with the National Conference, has been raising and fighting for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir since day one and will continue to do so.

Karra asserted that his party would ensure that public concerns, particularly those relating to basic amenities, find a prominent place in the Assembly proceedings.
His remarks came ahead of the autumn session of the Legislative Assembly, scheduled to begin on September 21, and a crucial party meeting convened here on Sunday at 5 PM to finalise the issues to be taken up during the session.
The Congress and the National Conference are partners in the ruling coalition in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
