Congress Party stands vindicated: GA Mir

 Srinagar Jan 10 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (3KPCC) President Ghulam Hassan Mir today hailed  Supreme Court over taking note of communication lockdown in J&K, saying that people have suffered enormously in the Backdrop of the internet lockdown by the Centre.

 
G.A. Mir while commenting on the ruling of  Supreme Court over communication gag  in J&K, he said that Congress Party Stands vindicated, shall continue to fight for the people-'s rights which are being violated under the ruling dispensation at Centre.
 
The communication lockdown was a serious matter, which is detrimental to the civil liberties and interests of the people, Mir said.
 
“The Party has time and again asked the Centre to lift the communication gag, very immediately to safeguard the civil liberties, besides having debated and discussed the matter with the Govt in the Parliament and outside, but despite that the Centre has turned deaf ear to the concerns raised by the Party (Congress) and the residents of 3&K leading to the countless losses,” he said.
 
Mir said the internet lockdown has not only violated Article 19 of
 
Indian Constitution, but made the people suffer immensely, besides having caused huge damages to economy also, which cannot be compensated.
 
Mir praised the Supreme Court over its ruling over internet lockdown in J&K, emphasizing the Centre to ensure that people's rights &civil liberties not violated further, he added and sought immediate Lifting of internet gag in view of the Supreme Court's ruling.
