Congress Marks 79th Independence Day in Srinagar, Pays Tribute to Freedom Fighters

Srinagar, Aug 15 (KNS): The Srinagar District Congress Committee (DCC) celebrated the 79th Independence Day at its M.A. Road party office on Friday, where the Tricolour was unfurled and a guard of honour was presented by a CRPF contingent.

The event was attended by senior Congress leaders, block presidents, and party workers, who exchanged greetings, sang the national anthem, and distributed sweets.

District Congress Committee President Irfan Naqib, the chief guest on the occasion, paid tribute to the selfless services and supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters during India’s independence struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe urged everyone to stay committed to serving the nation, strengthening democracy, and protecting democratic institutions.

Senior Congress leaders Surinder Singh Channi, Dr. Audil Farooq Mir Lasjan, Mushtaq Ahmad Bazaz, and others were also present. Naqib said the day was a reminder of the dignity, honour, and freedom achieved through the sacrifices of countless patriots.
