Congress Leaders Karra and Mir Launch ‘Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq’ Campaign in Kulgam

KULGAM, June 28, (KNS): Congress leaders Tariq Hameed Karra, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), and G.A. Mir, CLP Leader and AICC General Secretary, addressed a large workers’ convention in Chawalgam, Kulgam on Saturday. The event marked the official launch of the Congress Party’s state-wide campaign, “Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” (Our State, Our Right), which demands the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

Hundreds of Congress workers and supporters from Kulgam and across South Kashmir gathered at the convention, showing strong grassroots support for the campaign.

In their speeches, both leaders reaffirmed the Congress Party’s commitment to restoring Jammu and Kashmir’s constitutional status and democratic rights. They criticized the BJP-led central government for what they described as weakening the region’s identity and political representation.

Referring to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Karra held the central government and security agencies accountable, calling it a serious failure of the intelligence and security system.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“It’s been more than two months since the attackers’ sketches were released, yet there’s no clarity on where they are — whether inside Jammu and Kashmir or outside. Who is responsible for this lapse?” he asked. He also accused the BJP of isolating India on the international stage, especially during times of tension with Pakistan.

G.A. Mir urged party workers to increase public outreach and strengthen support for the campaign across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir. “This is a movement to restore the dignity, democracy, and rightful representation of the people,” he said.

The Chawalgam convention is the first in a series of similar events planned across the Union Territory as part of the Congress Party’s political outreach efforts. (KNS)
