Srinagar, Jun 12 (KNS): State Executive member of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement Feroz Wani has called for immediate assessment of the crop damage caused due to severe hailstorm in various areas of Lolab constituency including Nagsarai Kalaroos, Surigam and Khurhama.

“There has been massive damage to crops and fruit trees in Lolab and farmers are in distress. Government should send teams for immediate assessment of the damages and grant of compensation,” he added.

Pertinently flash floods were reported in last two days due which many houses also suffered damages and temporary shelters of Gujjar Bakerwals got destroyed. In Surigam flash- floods damaged many houses due to a blocked drain.

Feroz Wani requested District Administration to take up immediate flood protection works in these areas to prevent future damage. (KNS)
