Srinagar, Apr 22 (KNS): The Sports Committee of PHD Chamber Of Commerce & Industry Kashmir Chapter has convened a Brain Storming interactive Session on Saturday at PHD Chamber Office , the meeting was chaired by Mushtaq Chaya Chairman PHDCCI Kashmir and Co-Chaired by the Secretary J&K Sports Council Mr. Waheed Ur Rehman Parra. The interactive Session with Secretary Sports was organized to generate ideas for Development of Sports activities. The Objective was to discuss and generate ideas for youth development and empowerment so that the current schemes, programmes and interventions can be improved upon. Ideas and Suggestions were given by members of PHD Chamber for draft sports policy of J&K and for achieving better synergy, convergence in the activities on sports activities of Kashmir.
While addressing the gathering the Chairman of PHDCCI Kashmir said that Sport and recreation can play a major role in combating violence through involving as many people as possible in sport and recreation at the same time imparting life skills in the minds of participants. Sport and Recreation have been proven across the world that it can enhance participation of people for health purposes and for healthy life style and result towards a targeted reduction of abuse, crime and violence.
Secretary J&K Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra said that the Communities across J&K will enjoy improved local sporting facilities under various schemes of State and Central Government and we are making investment to upgrade sporting facilities, a move which will give communities new fields and improved existing fields and will allow them to make the most of open spaces which are currently underused and we are making sure the local communities have the sporting fields and infrastructure they need.
It was proposed that PHD Chamber in association with J&K Sports Council will form football and Cricket Club and will launch a Knock out Series of Cricket Competition for Kashmir Valley and will be open to all teams.
The meeting was attended by Co- chairman Baldev Singh Raina, General Secretary Bilal Ahmad Kawoosa, Showkat Chowdhary, Mukhtar Ahmad Shah, and Chairman Sports Committee of PHDCCI Kashmir Tariq Rashid Ghani, Babar Chowdhary, Iqbal Haneef Beigh, noted educationist CL Vishen , Abdul Sattar, Khurshid Mahajan and others.
