CM Omar Abdullah to chair cabinet meet today

 Jammu, Dec 22 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will chair a Cabinet meeting on Monday to take decisions on relief for flood-affected families and financial support for cooperative banks, officials said.

The meeting will be held at the Civil Secretariat at 10:30 am and attended by ministers and senior officers.

Officials said the Cabinet is likely to approve a policy for allotment of five marlas of land to families whose houses were damaged in recent flash floods, cloudbursts and landslides during the monsoon.

The proposal follows large-scale damage reported on August 14 and 26 across several parts of the Union Territory.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Cabinet is also expected to clear a proposal to infuse Rs 118 crore into the Jammu Central Cooperative Bank and the Anantnag Central Cooperative Bank to improve their financial health.

Other agenda items include enhancement of the pay level of Village Level Workers and re-designation of around 20 District Panchayat Officer posts as Block Development Officers.(KNS).
