Jammu, Nov 18 (KNS): Chief Executive Officer, JKERA, which is nodal agency for Mass rapid Transit System in capital cities of Srinagar and Jammu Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone today reviewed the progress of formulation of DPRs for the prestigious projects.
The Detailed project report for the projects is being prepared by RITES, a Government of India Enterprise.
During the review meeting, it was informed that the draft report in respect of both the cities have been prepared. RITES was asked to incorporate the suggestions made during the stake holders meeting chaired by the Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu respectively in the report.
Thereafter the respective Divisional Commissioners will be requested to convene a meeting of stake holders once again so that the report is finalized for submission to government for approval.
It was further informed that government of India has introduced new metro rail policy 2017 on 16th September 2017. As per the new policy mobility plan and alternative plans to arrive at the best operative plan have also to be worked out. While mobility plan of both Srinagar and Jammu cities has already been prepared and approved by government. RITES wasalso asked to furnish proposal for remaining activities urgently so that approval of the same is obtained from the government for expeditions preparation of the DPRs. It was decided that progress on preparation of DPRs shall be reviewed on regular basis
The meeting was attended by Ravinder Gupta, Director ERA ,Jammu, Satish Razdan, Director ERA Kashmir, Mir Iqbal Nodal officer ,Kashmir, Shakti Sagar, Jammu and other senior officers of JKERA while as RITES team was represented by Piyush Kansal, country head urban Transport and other senior officers.
