Budgam Killing: PAGD to meet LG Sinha to raise issue of safety, security of KPs

Srinagar May 14 (KNS): After attending various delegations of Kashmiri Pandit Community, Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) has decided to move to Raj Bhawan to meet Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to raise the safety and security issue of Kashmir Pandits.

Talking to reporters, PAGD spokesman, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said that after the unfortunate killing of Kashmiri Pandit, Rahul Bhat, a delegation of KPs called on PAGD leadership to put forth their concerns.

“To ensure the safety and security of KPs, the PAGD leadership has decided to move to Raj Bhawan to meet the Lt Governor,” he said.

He said that Kashmir has a history of brotherhood and communal harmony but it’s unfortunate that some elements are trying to break it. “But Kashmir has always resisted those elements to create an example of communal harmony,” he said.

He added that the KPs working in several places of Kashmir valley are feeling scared, but it’s the collective responsibility to ensure a safe and secure environment for them.

“The sole responsibility lies on government, as they are making tall claims of normalcy, but the ground situation is going contrary to their claims. The government has to ensure safety and security of Kashmiri Pandits,” he said.

He said that keeping these things in mind, PAGD leadership has decided to meet the LG to raise KPs concerns before him. (KNS)
