Uri,July 31 (KNS) : the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Unit near Salamabad, Jammu and Kashmir, organized a highly successful blood donation camp in collaboration with the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC). Under the leadership of Shri Ravi Yadav, Commandant of Uri-1, and Shri Manohar Singh, Deputy Commandant of Uri-2, the camp exemplified the CISF’s dual role as not only a premier security provider but also a proactive contributor to the welfare of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. The NHPC, with significant contributions from Shri Om Prakash Gupta, head of the NHPC project, played a vital role as a collaborator, ensuring the camp was organized efficiently and effectively.

A dedicated medical team, consisting of 4 to 5 doctors and approximately 20 medical staff, facilitated the seamless execution of the camp. Dr. Abid, a committed doctor from NHPC, was instrumental in coordinating the blood donation process, bringing expertise and efficiency to the initiative. A total of 70 personnel, including CISF members and NHPC employees, donated blood, demonstrating a collective commitment to saving lives. The donated blood will primarily benefit underprivileged individuals in Jammu and Kashmir who cannot afford blood units, directly addressing critical healthcare needs in the region.

This blood donation drive aligns with the Government of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs’ objectives, encouraging uniformed services and their partners to contribute to societal well-being.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBeyond their primary role of ensuring security for critical infrastructure like NHPC’s Uri-2 power project, the CISF has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to serving the community. Their efforts extend far beyond safeguarding the region, as they actively engage in humanitarian initiatives to uplift the lives of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. This camp is a testament to their dedication to fostering hope and resilience through acts of compassion.

The CISF Unit at Uri-2 has been a beacon of support during crises, notably during Operation Sindoor. On the night of May 6, 2025, when cross-border shelling damaged homes in the region, the unit acted swiftly as first responders, providing essential relief materials and arranging transportation to relocate affected residents to safe areas in Baramulla and Srinagar. These efforts highlight the CISF’s pivotal role as a humanitarian force, complementing their security responsibilities and earning the trust and gratitude of the local community.

The collaboration with NHPC, bolstered by Om Prakash Gupta’s leadership and Dr. Abid’s medical expertise, amplified the camp’s impact. Together, the CISF and NHPC showcased a shared vision of building a more compassionate, prosperous, and peaceful Jammu and Kashmir, with the CISF leading the charge as both protectors and caregivers for the region’s people.(KNS)
