Srinagar, Jan 20 (KNS): The family and relatives of Kashmiri man, Bilal Ahmad Kawa who was arrested in New Delhi over his alleged involvement in 2000 Red Fort attack case Saturday staged protest against his arrest, demanding his immediate release.
Kashmiri man, Bilal Ahmad Kawa of Aali Kadal was arrested on Jan 10 in New Delhi against hi alleged involvement in 2000 Red Fort attack case. Kawa as per the Police was on run since the attack took place and was frequently changing his location.
The family today assembled at Srinagar’s press enclave and demanded his immediate releases.
The protesting family said that Kawa is being punished for no reasons as he has no links with any militant outfit. “He is being made a scapegoat by the authorities,” the family said.
The family said that Kawa was travelling to Delhi with his brother who was scheduled to see a doctor. “If he was suspicious, why did not they arrest him before,” the protesters said.
They said that Kawa is being implicated in false case as he was a minor when the Red Fort attack took place in 2000.
The family demanded that the local government and the police must intervene into the matter and should ensure his immediate release. (KNS)
