Srinagar, May 13 (KNS): Stating that justice will be delivered to the victim on war footing basis, the government on Monday appealed people to maintain calm, saying that the culprit involved in the act will be dealt with strictly as per the law.

According to KNS Correspondent, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan while talking media persons appealed people to maintain peace and calm, saying that he was personally monitoring the case.

He said that the Governor Satya Pal Malik has instructed them to hold a time-bound probe into the case, adding that the case is being probed on fast track basis.

Khan said that justice will be delivered to the victim on war footing basis, adding that person involved in the crime will be dealt with strictly as per the law.

He also appealed people to maintain calm and have faith in the government, saying that people having any complaint must approach him of the administration so that the issue will be looked into.

Earlier, a three-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district with police claiming to have arrested the accused.

The incident in Bandipora has triggered many protests across the Valley while some of the protests turned violent. (KNS)
