Bandipora, June 03 (KNS): In a significant development for youth engagement and development in Bandipora, a delegation from the Bharat Scouts & Guides (BSG) State Headquarters Srinagar, along with key office bearers from District Bandipora, called on the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri (JKAS). The meeting, held under the leadership of Ms Gulshan Ara, Administrative Officer of Kashmir Division, reflected the growing collaboration between the scouting movement and district administration.
The delegation included several prominent state and district-level officials from BSG, including S.M. Shafi (Joint State Secretary), Masrat Hussain Andrabi (ALT), State Organising Commissioner Scouts, Firdous Ahad (ALT), State Training Commissioner Guides, and Ali Mohamad Wani (ALT), Joint State Training Commissioner, among others.
The DC Bandipora was warmly welcomed by the team, with Ms Gulshan Ara presenting a bouquet and S.M. Shafi adorning the DC with the traditional scouting scarf. In his address, Deputy Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad Qadri expressed his commitment to supporting all BSG initiatives in the district. He proposed the organization of a Civil Defence Programme for Scouts and Guides and emphasized the need for a comprehensive training programme for teachers across the district.
Ali Mohamad Wani briefed the DC on the principles, purpose, and methods of scouting, highlighting its role in character-building and community service. The meeting concluded on a positive note with assurances of support from Abdul Rashid Mir, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, and Nazir Ahmad Bhat, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Bandipora.
