Srinagar, Sep 2 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma on Wednesday accused the National Conference (NC) government of providing a "clean sheet" to Pakistan and failing on the development front, as his party staged a massive protest here against the Omar Abdullah-led administration.

"What can be done with such a Chief Minister? In less than two years, the development that has not happened through him, the efforts that have been made through him to divert people's attention, people will not forgive him. Pakistan is also given a clean sheet through him," Sat Sharma told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) on the sidelines of a protest march from Lal Chowk to the Civil Secretariat.

Asserting that the people have made up their minds, Sat Sharma said the NC government has only three years left to either deliver or step down.

"The Indian people will never tolerate those who give Pakistan a clean sheet. Can the government pressurise the National Conference today? It does not matter to us," he said.

Highlighting the turnout at the protest, BJP leader noted that thousands of people had gathered at the historic Lal Chowk demanding accountability.

"You see how people have made up their minds, that the government should either work or leave the post. Either they work in the remaining three years or leave the post," he added.

The BJP's march coincided with counter-protests by the NC, which is demanding restoration of statehood and constitutional guarantees for Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
