Jammu, Oct 9 (KNS): Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Thursday said the BJP is fully prepared to contest the upcoming Rajya Sabha and by-elections in Jammu and Kashmir with full strength, reaffirming that the party’s foundation lies in hard work and ideology, not family politics.
Speaking to reporters after the BJP’s core committee meeting in Jammu, Chugh said that elections are the true strength of democracy and every poll further strengthens it. “In democracy, elections are like a force. Every election strengthens democracy because it has the support of the people,” he said.
He added that the BJP treats every election whether bypolls or parliamentary contests with equal seriousness. “If there are Rajya Sabha or by-elections, or even four Lok Sabha seats, the BJP will fight with full strength,” he said.
Asserting that the BJP is a cadre-based party, Chugh said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is not a party of a father and son, or a mother and daughter, or an uncle and nephew. It is a party of workers who believe in ideology. We have the world’s greatest leader in Modi ji, and under his leadership, the party will continue to move forward.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”
Chugh took a sharp dig at National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah, accusing his party of failing to fulfill promises made to the people. “One year is about to end, and the people of Jammu and Kashmir are asking that at least 20% of your promises be fulfilled. You have not fulfilled even a single one,” Chugh said as per KNS.
He dismissed the NC’s claim that it was not being allowed to work. “Almost 95% of the cabinet decisions taken earlier have been approved by the LG administration. Not a single decision in the interest of the people has been stopped,” he said, urging Omar Abdullah to “do something meaningful for the people of J&K.”
Chugh also said that Tourism is vital for J&K’s economy, but the NC has shown little seriousness toward its promotion.
The BJP leader said another core committee meeting will soon be held to finalize the party’s strategy for the upcoming Rajya Sabha and by-elections, as part of continuous organizational and electoral preparations in the Union Territory.(KNS)
