Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament, Thupstan Chhewang has tendered his resignation from the basic membership of the party on Wednesday (November 14) before the party's State president, Ravinder Raina.
He also announced his resignation from the Lok Sabha membership.
The BJP leader and MP in a letter to Party's State president, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS) has said that he is resigning from the primary membership of the party on health grounds.
He in a letter, dated 14-11-2018 to Raina has also claimed that he will also write separately to the Speaker of Lok Sabha regarding his resignation as MP from Ladakh Parliamentary constituency.
Chhewang who was National Executive member of the saffron party was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha. Reports said that he had secured 31,111 votes and defeated Congress candidate with a huge margin. (KNS)
