Srinagar, Sep 23 (KNS): Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday appreciated the efforts of J&K Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi for the development and transformation of the historic Hazratbal Shrine here.

Azad visited the Hazratbal Shrine on Wednesday and expressed appreciation for the arrangements and transformation he witnessed there.

Speaking after the visit, Azad said what he saw at the shrine was completely different from what he had expected and had gone far beyond his expectations.

"Today, I am truly delighted to see this transformation. I congratulate Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi Sahiba for creating such a remarkable example for the whole of India," Azad said.

He appreciated the arrangements and development carried out at the historic shrine and said the work had set an example that could be emulated elsewhere in the country.(KNS)
