They were taken into ”preventive Custody” on August 4 last year some hours before abrogation of Article 370. However sources said that PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone was informed by the administration about the restrictions on his movement outside his accommodation at Church Lane.

Scores of leaders were detained on August 5 before the centre scrapped the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the erstwhile state into the two union territories Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.

Lone and Paara  were earlier detained in centaur Hotel Srinagar on the banks of Dal Lake who later on were shifted to MLA hostel Srinagar. However Wani was released from central Jail Srinagar this evening.

Since then authorities while reviewing the security situation in J&K released several leaders in a phased manner.

However, the three former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir are still under detention since August 5.
