Authorities close several religious places in Srinagar


Srinagar, Mar 26 (KNS): Authorities on Thursday closed several religious places across Srinagar district to prevent assembly of people amid COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), officials of civil and police administration locked down several Mosques, Shrines and Gurdwaras across Srinagar including Hazratbal, Naqshband Sahib, Dastageer Saheb, Gurudwara Saheb Chatti Padshahi and others. Official source said during the drive, management of concerned religious places cooperated and hailed the efforts of administration.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdhary tweeted, “Dastageer Saheb, Gurudwara Saheb Chatti Padshahi and other. Mosques follow. Thankful to officials on ground and all management committees. #StayAtHome”.
In another tweet he said, “Closure of all religious places in #Srinagar is underway. With active cooperation of Management committees. Revered shrines Hazratbal, Naqshband Saheb show the way. #StayAtHome. (KNS)
