Srinagar, Jun 12 (KNS): Expressing concern over the damage caused by flash floods in Nalah Feroozpora and the incessant rains causing flood like situation, National Conference (NC) leader Farooq Ahmad Shah Wednesday appealed Governor Administration for the assessment of damages and the subsequent compensation.

In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said that there has been a spell of bad weather this year, which has caused huge damages to the crops and fruits in the Tangmarg area, resulting in huge economic loss and distress to the farmers.

He said the last night's flash floods have inundated various areas besides damaging the standing crops.

The former IAS officer said that a bridge has also been washed away at Shrai, creating problems to the people. He said he has taken up the issue with Baramulla Deputy Commissioner also.

Shah appealed Governor Administration to take immediate steps to address the problems.

He added that the affected people should be given compensation at an earliest so that they could heave a sigh of relief. (KNS)
