Artificial Limbs Fitment Camps Empower Differently Abled Persons in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 13 (KNS): As part of its ongoing welfare initiatives in the Valley, the Chinar Corps, in collaboration with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) popularly known as Jaipur Foot organised a series of Artificial Limbs Fitment Camps for differently abled persons across Kashmir.

The camps were held at Trehgam, Sharifabad, Anantnag, Shopian, and Srinagar with the objective of empowering individuals with disabilities and improving their quality of life.

A specialised team of prosthetic technicians and medical experts from BMVSS assessed the needs of amputees and provided customised artificial limbs. During the initiative, 54 beneficiaries received artificial limbs, while 1,753 differently abled persons were provided with supportive mobility aids.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Local residents and beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the Indian Army and the NGO for conducting this humanitarian outreach, terming it a step towards inclusion and empowerment.

The initiative stands as a shining example of synergy between civil society and the Armed Forces, reaffirming the shared resolve to build a compassionate and self-reliant Kashmir. It also underscores the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to nation-building through people-centric initiatives. (KNS)
