Srinagar, Oct 31 (KNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday stated that with the annulment of Article 370 and 35A, the ancient dream of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel has come to true. He also said, Article 370 and 35A which gave special status to erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was obstruction between the relations of New Delhi and Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Modi further said, it was Article 370 due to which militancy and separatism had been emerged and pampered in the region.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), PM Modi while speaking on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel said that BJP government took bold and valiant step of abolishing Article 370 and 35A and made dream of Patel true despite various impediments. “BJP government took bold decision and nullified Article 370 and 35A which gave special status to Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. This was the ancient dream of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel and BJP has made it true”, PM Modi said,

He said, “Article 370 and 35A was big hurdle between the relations of New Delhi and Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh”, and said “We have demolished this wall”.

PM Modi also said, “Kashmir witnessed ample bloodbath in past and it was Article 370 which pampered the militancy and separatism in the region”. He added, “Despite several odds, we revoked this Article and connected Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh into Union of India”.

Lashing out at regional mainstream political parties especially National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), PM Modi said “Some political parties enough misused Article 370 and befooled people of Jammu and Kashmir. These parties were accumulating wealth and votes for their personal comfort”.

Termed the Article 370 as impediment in developmental works in Jammu and Kashmir, PM said that “BJP government wants to see equal development in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. In days to come people will see a new era of development in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. Now there is a bright future ahead”. (KNS)
