Says if Art 35-A is abolished, it will be last nail in coffin for India in Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 23 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Saturday said if Article 35-A is abolished, it will be the last nail in the coffin regarding JKs relation with India.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mehbooba said if any fiddling is done with Article 35-A there will remain no one in Kashmir to shoulder "India's tri-color in the valley".
"No one will remain here in Kashmir to give shoulder to Indian flag in Kashmir. It will be the final nail in the coffin for India's relation with Kashmir," Mehbooba said.
Stating that democracy is battle of ideas, and everyone is free to express his ideology. "You can cage a person not his ideas," she said.
Mehbooba said elections are not being fought for the first time in Kashmir. "Caging Jamaat and Hurriyat leaders won't solve Kashmir issue. The muscular policy has never worked and it will never work," Mufti asserted.
However, Mehbooba added that she was also asked to arrest at least 100 Jamaat and other leaders but there was no proof against their involvement in anything, therefore “I rejected to arrest them but now the present regime got a chance to arrest them which is unfortunate.”
She said the arrest of Jamaat leaders seems a revenge politics against Pulwama attack and those people are targeted who are not even remotely involved in it. "It seems a revenge politics which has no base at all," she added. (KNS)
