Srinagar, Jun 15 (KNS): Army on Saturday said that it foiled an exfiltration bid by four youths from different parts of valley in Boniyar area of Baramulla District on 14 Jun 2019.

In a statement issued to KNS, defence spokesperson said that these four youths had been reported to be missing from various parts of the Valley for the past few days and had planned to join terrorist groups after crossing the border. Repeated calls from families and security forces had failed to persuade them to return home. An extensive manhunt to apprehend them prior to joining terrorist groups had been launched all across the valley.

“In a coordinated operation, based on specific intelligence, security forces apprehended these individuals along with weapons and ammunition. The boys have been handed over to J&K Police in the presence of the families. A search for individuals who motivated and influenced these young boys for their ulterior motives is on,” defence spokesperson said.

“It has been the constant endeavour of security forces to bring back the misguided youths into the mainstream. Army continues to uphold its commitment to work towards helping misguided individuals in returning back so that they lead a normal life and build their future,” he added. (KNS)
