Apni Party’s Yawar Mir Meets LG, Seeks Relief for Horticulture, Tourism, Farmers, and Detainees

Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS) : Youth President of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party Yawar Mir and Spokesman met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan and submitted a detailed memorandum highlighting pressing public issues and seeking immediate administrative action.

In a statement issued, During the meeting, Mir urged the LG to review cases of detainees lodged in jails outside J&K, highlighting the hardship faced by their families. He requested that transfers be considered on humanitarian grounds to ease their suffering.

Mir also drew attention to the horticulture sector, particularly apple growers, who have faced significant losses due to adverse weather conditions, low market prices, and logistical disruptions. He requested a comprehensive relief and compensation package to support orchardists, traders, transporters, and workers dependent on the sector.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The memorandum further highlighted the challenges faced by the tourism industry following the closure of key tourist destinations in the Valley after the Pahalgam incident.

Mir emphasized the distress of thousands of families reliant on tourism, including hoteliers, transporters, houseboat owners, and artisans. He urged the early reopening of tourist cities and the announcement of a relief package to support the affected stakeholders.

Addressing the financial hardships of small farmers and orchardists, Mir also requested the waiver of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans to provide economic relief and sustain livelihoods.

Speaking to media after the meeting, Yawar Mir said, “These measures will provide immediate relief to the people and strengthen public confidence in the administration.”( KNS)
