Budgam, Aug 19 (KNS): Anjuman Shari Shian Sunday observed the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Muhammad Baqar (RA) at Kanihama Chattargam area of Central Kashmirs Budgam district. Thousands of devotees participated in the program where speakers paid rich tribute to Imam Muhammad Baqar (RA).
Senior Hurriyat leader and President Anjuman Shari Shian threw light on the life and teachings of Imam Muhammad Baqar (RA).
He said that Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, the fifth immaculate Imam, was a young child during the tragedy of ‘Ashura’. The memories of his grandfather, Imam Hussain, stuck with him throughout his life. He grew up in the spiritually enlightening care of his father, Imam Zayn al-Abidin. The fifth Imam became known – by friend and foe, alike – for his knowledge, piety and virtue. Imam al-Baqir revealed more insight about the Islamic sciences than any other counterpart since the time of Imam Hasan and Imam Hussain. He paved the way for the establishment of a massive Islamic university, which would reach its peak of development during the following Imam’s time.
Many of Imam al-Baqir’s contemporaries had written about his scholarly status. Aga Syed Hasan appealed devotees to follow his path in the interest of Islam and humanity.
Aga Syed Hasan also talked about the Government of India’s move to abrogate Article 35A. He said if this article is abrogated, it will have serious ramifications. He also congratulated Imran Khan for becoming Prime Minister of Pakistan and hoped that he will create conducive atmosphere and will play a key role in the resolution of Kashmir issue. (KNS)
