Altaf Bukhari meets LG Sinha, seeks relief for farmers

Srinagar, July 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President, Altaf Bukhari, held a meeting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan, where the two leaders discussed a wide range of public concerns, particularly those affecting the region’s horticulture sector.

Bukhari highlighted the severe losses suffered by orchardists and farmers across Jammu and Kashmir due to recent and recurrent weather-related adversities. “I urged the Hon’ble LG to ensure that adequate and timely compensation is provided to the affected farmers,” Bukhari said following the meeting. “I also requested his intervention in implementing a comprehensive crop insurance scheme to safeguard the livelihoods of our farming communities from future climate-related uncertainties.”

Describing the meeting as "constructive and productive," Bukhari expressed hope that the issues raised would be addressed with urgency and sensitivity by the administration.(KNS)
