Allow intra Kashmir dialogue, porous borders for Kashmir resolution: Muzafar Shah tells Kashmir Conference

Srinagar, Dec 09 (KNS): A conference the theme of which was “J&K-The road ahead” in Delhi called for resumption of India-Pakistan talks, intra Kashmir dialogue and opening up of all traditional routes between the divided parts of Kashmir to help the people come together for putting forward a formula for Kashmir resolution just in one year.
As per Kashmir News Service (KNS), the conference was among others attended by National Conference President and three time former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, noted Kashmir track-II activist O P Shah, National Panthers Party Chief Prof. Bhim Singh, Awami National Conference senior vice president Muzafar Ahmad Shah, noted human rights and social activist Advocate Syed Mujtaba, Majid Memon and senior PDP leader Zafar Manhas.
Addressing the conference, the ANC senior Vice president Muzafar Ahmad Shah reminded government of India of the commitment of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on resolution of Kashmir issues and the assurances of the Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru to Sheikh Abdullah on special status, particularly Article 370 and Article 35A.
Reminding National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah of his support to intra Kashmir dialogue as chief minister of the state, Shah said, “Let the people of two divided parts of Jammu and Kashmir from all regions come together, discuss the issues as they are the principal sufferers to the dispute and they will, I believe, bring forward a workable proposal for resolution of Kashmir issue within one year. Intra Kashmir dialogue should involve the participation of all including Muslims, Kashmiri Pandits, Dogras of Jammu, Budhists of Ladakh, people of Pak-administered Kashmir and Gilgit & Baltistan.”
Shah told the audience that no power on earth can scrap Article 370 or Article 35A as these constitutional safeguards are a link between the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the union of India. (KNS)
