All key arrangements in place for winter, says Divisional Commissioner Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 19 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Wednesday said the administration has completed all major winter preparedness measures across the Valley, with special attention on snow clearance, power supply restoration and essential services.

Talking to media as per KNS correspondent, Garg said winter stocking in border districts like Kupwara and Bandipora has already been finalised. “There are 872 designated stations where food grains and other essential supplies have been stored four months in advance. This entire process is complete,” he noted. He added that LPG availability has also been ensured so that households do not face any shortage during harsh weather.

He said that disaster management systems across the Valley are fully activated. The Integrated Command and Control Centre in Srinagar, along with district-level control rooms, has officers on round-the-clock duty to respond to any situation. “District administrations are continuously reviewing local arrangements to ensure that people do not face difficulties as temperatures dip,” he said.

With snow expected in the coming weeks, the administration has said it is committed to ensuring uninterrupted services and swift response to any weather-related disruption, he added. (KNS)
