Thousands gather to honour Prophet Muhammad (SAWW); speakers recall his message and the scholarly legacy of Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS)

Srinagar, Sep 14 (KNS) : Thousands of men, women and children converged today as the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association led a large Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) procession from Imamia Park, Gazidoori to Imam Bargah Zadibal.

In a statement issued, The rally drew religious scholars, zakireen, students from various madrassas, teachers, the AJKSA women volunteer team, core committee members and a wide cross-section of the community, underlining a shared devotion to the Prophet’s message of mercy and justice.

The programme opened at 9:30 a.m. in Imamia Park where scholars Syed Muzaffar reflected on the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW), setting a reflective tone for the day. The procession moved off at 10:30 a.m., and made key halts across the route where learned speakers addressed the gathering. At Alamgari Bazaar Chowk, AJKSA spokesperson Syed Taib Rizvi spoke of the Prophet’s exemplary life and also touched upon the contributions of Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) in preserving and deepening Islamic learning. At M K Chowk, Hawal, AJKSA Spokesperson Sheikh Mohammad Zakri recalled how the Prophet expanded Islam through patience, wisdom and moral example. At Ali Park, Zadibal, Syed Inayat Rizvi underlined Imam Jafar Sadiq’s role in shaping jurisprudence, philosophy and religious scholarship, and the procession concluded at Imam Bargah Zadibal where Syed Gazanfer led naats and nasheeds in praise of the Prophet as green flags and devotional songs filled the air.

Leaders and office-bearers from AJKSA joined the march and worked throughout to ensure its smooth conduct.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe Srinagar district committee, headed by AJKSA District President Haji Firdaus Mirza, was represented by Vice President Munshi Bashir, Secretary Yaseen Mustafa, Joint Secretary Nisar Sultan, Youth Coordinator Arshed Sultan and core members Asim Gazi, Haji Yaqoob and Syed Altaf. Inspectors and teachers of madrassas under AJKSA, along with students from several seminaries, actively participated and added to the strength of the procession. The association’s women volunteer team also played a prominent role in organizing and guiding the participants.

AJKSA President Molvi Imran Reza Ansari expressed deep appreciation for the students, teachers, zakireen and volunteers whose efforts made the rally possible. He also thanked the district administration and police for their cooperation, naming SSP Srinagar Dr. Sundeep Chakravarthy, SDPO Zadibal Rashid, SHO Zadibal Waseem Gul, SP Traffic City Zaheer Abbas and their teams for facilitating the procession. He acknowledged civic support from SMC Joint Commissioner Nuzhat, Joint Commissioner Syed Abul Qasim, Ward Officer Hilal and the sanitation staff, and paid tribute to the many AJKSA volunteers who remained on duty since yesterday to help manage the event.

“Today’s turnout shows how the Prophet’s message continues to bind our community,” Molvi Imran Reza Ansari said. “We remember his mercy and leadership, and we honour Imam Jafar Sadiq (AS) whose scholarship carried forward that light of guidance. Such gatherings renew our commitment to faith, knowledge and service.”(KNS)
