Rescue teams, including the army, firefighters, and emergency workers, reached the site quickly. Victims with serious burn injuries were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, and Combined Military Hospital (CMH).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSeveral people remain in critical condition.

The pilot, Flight Lieutenant Towkir Islam, ejected before the crash but later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Eyewitnesses described terrifying scenes. “The jet hit near the college gate, and the fire spread fast. Students were crying and running everywhere,” said a teacher.

Bangladesh's caretaker government has declared Tuesday, July 22, a national day of mourning. The national flag will be flown at half-mast, and special prayers will be held for the victims.

A high-level investigation has been ordered by the Air Force and civil aviation authorities. Officials are also reviewing flight safety protocols near populated areas.(KNS)
