Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi attends protest conference on Abrogation of Article 370 in New Delhi

Srinagar Aug 05 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party leader Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi attended protest conference on the occasion of Sixth year of Abrogation of Article 370 in Press Club of India.

While speaking Aga Muntazir said “we gather here not merely to mark a date on the calendar — but to reflect on a rupture in the democratic fabric of the Indian Republic. August 5th is no ordinary day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a day that altered the course of our history, redefined our constitutional relationship with the Union of India, and left a deep, lasting scar on the collective psyche of an entire people”.

On this day, five years ago, Article 370 was abrogate. Overnight, Jammu and Kashmir, a state with a unique constitutional identity and historical significance, was stripped of its autonomy and dignity. For the first time in independent India's history, a full-fledged state with its own constitution, legislature, and history of democratic participation —was downgraded to a Union Territory.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

While claiming Political grievance remains unsolved Aga Muntazir said “No matter how many malls are opened, how many conferences are held, how many slogans are written — political grievances do not disappear with speeches. There is a deep, unresolved anger in the hearts of the people. It is not anti-national. It is not seditious. It is democratic. And democracy must provide space for that voice. There is instability — not only in the streets, but in the minds. There is a crisis of identity and purpose”.

Further Aga said People of Jammu and Kashmir are not at war with anyone but The people of Jammu and Kashmir but will never accept a future where Kashmiris are ruled without respect, heard without empathy, and governed without representation.
He urgently called for resumption of Dialogue between stakeholders to end political uncertainty and Restoration of dignity and and political rights.(KNS)
