Aga Syed Hasan condemns ban on JKLF

Budgam, Mar 24 (KNS): Senior Hurriyat leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi has strongly condemned the banning of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) by the Indian authorities.

In a statement issued to KNS, Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi said that such tactics would not change the reality of the Kashmir dispute.

“Strongly denounce the ban on JKLF after Jamaat-e-Islami. Such anti-Kashmir tactics will not change the reality of the Kashmir issue nor the urgency to resolve it,” he said.

The JKLF led by Muhammad Yasin Malik was banned by Indian government on Friday for its pro-freedom activities in Kashmir. Yasin Malik is detained at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu under draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA).

He said that banning of political activities had made the atmosphere of the region suffocative and people were compelled to shoulder the coffins on daily basis. He said that the Indian authorities had jailed leaders and people had been left at the mercy of the men in uniform who had been set free to silence the masses by using all repressive means and measures.
